 Welcome to the youth section of sukhdhaliwal.ca! This page is all about providing young people with information about some of the great programs that they can take part in locally and nationally with youth from around the country! Getting out there and being involved—whether it’s with a sports team, a community group or a part of an exchange—is not only part a way to develop as a person, it’s also a lot of fun.

National Programs

Exchanges Canada… 
…organizes exchanges between youth in different parts of the country; runs forums and conferences for youth across Canada; and provides information about exchange opportunities across Canada.

Encounters with Canada…
…brings over a hundred students from all across Canada to Ottawa for a week. Participants tour national institutions in the capital and take part in studies at The Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre. For ages 14-17.

Forum for Young Canadians…
…offers young Canadians the opportunity to gain a clear understanding of the processes of government in Canada This bilingual, non-partisan program bring over 600 students to Ottawa to learn about national politics and public policy. For ages 15-19.

 British Columbia Youth Parliament…
…is a youth service organization dedicated to the motto of youth serving youth. Every year 95 individuals from around BC gather in Victoria at the legislature and spend a week learning parliamentary procedure, debating and all about the British Columbia Youth Parliament. For ages 16 to 21.

The Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC)…
..organizes exchanges, educational trips, and forums in Canada for young Canadians between the ages of 12-17, their educators, community leaders and families throughout the year.  They provide practical experience and personal growth opportunities.

Explore
…is a five week intensive French language course that gives participants the chance to learn in another part of the country.  Participants receive a bursary covering tuition fees for the course, instructional materials, meals, and accommodation.
